CSA Family Harvest Festival
This year’s CSA family event took the shape of an autumn celebration and picnic. Some 80+ CSA employee and family members showed up on what turned out to be a beautiful October day. There was a pumpkin decorating contest, crafts, guessing games for the kids, bobbing for apples, and much more. The food was delicious thanks to contributions from of all our fine “in-house” chefs. As usual, there were 232 assorted desserts, 39 bags of chips and one broccoli salad – just the way we like it.
The final event of the evening was the parent/child sugar-overload-peel-them-off-the-walls-dismount race. Almost everyone participated. Fun for the whole family!
The Hunt
Nothing says “team-building” like a Scavenger Hunt on a dreary November afternoon! If you happened to be in the vicinity of Blue Ash Square that Friday you may have seen the talented folks of Cassady Schiller & Associates scurrying around in search of new friends and hard-to-find items. Five teams competed on foot in a highly competitive race against time. Each team was challenged to collect a list of valuable trinkets like sardine peelers, dental floss and empty toilet paper rolls. They also had to capture artistic photo opportunities like CSA staff pumping gas for a stranger, wearing a sombrero, or just stretching out over some railroad tracks for a little rest and relaxation. And if that wasn’t enough, each team was faced with answering a page of obscure and ambiguous trivia like Who was the Mayor of Blue Ash in 1986?, Which pharmacist is on duty at Walgreens?, and How late can you eat Blue Ash Chili on a Friday night?
In the end, Hensley’s Homies took home the trophies. But truth be told, our new-found friends in Blue Ash and the strengthened CSA team relationships that resulted from the day made winners of us all. ~ Remember: URCSA ~
